Bunbury Carnival June Long Weekend 2026

Bunbury Carnival will be held from 28 May - 1 June 2026 over the June long weekend. 

The Bunbury Carnival is an annual festival of hockey where teams can play up to 11 games over the weekend, consisting of 2 x 15-minute halves, played on both grass & turf, finishing with crossover and/or finals games on the last day (Monday).

EQUIPMENT TO BRING/PACK:

Players:
  • Spare set of shoes (if possible)
  • Spare uniforms/socks (including alternative strip)
  • Waterproof pants/jacket
  • Warm clothes for afterwards!
  • Towel to take each day
  • Goalie gear – if we have goalies attending who have their own kit
 
Parents:
  • Waterproof pants/jacket
  • Comfortable and waterproof shoes – you will get your steps in!
  • Foldable chair/perching stool (you know what I mean)
  • Warm clothes
  • Extra Cash - there are multiple hockey stands selling hockey gear at the Turf.
  • Wine – Not essential but you may need it….
 
Equipment to bring:
  • Tarpaulins/waterproof picnic rugs (for inside the marquee for the kids to sit on and put their gear o
  • First Aid kits – Ice spray is apparently a must!
  • Goalie gear 
  • one snack item per player for sharing with the team - Apples and mandarins are avilable tto buy at tthe field and are amazing!!

Operational Information 

  • Parking can be interesting so leave plenty of time to get parking and walk to your game. You may want to meet at the marquee at the start of each day. 
  • The SLHC Marquee will be beside the Turf fields and should be marked. Don't leave tthings there overnight and allocate someone to take anything left behind
  • Use the Marquee as a marshalling point for your teams
  • Bring a pen for scoring
  • Umpires will be provided by SWJHC. If an umpire doesnt show or you end up using a parent/sibling please advise SWJHC so as to not be charged.

 

MOST IMPORTANTLY HAVE FUN, MAKE NEW FRIENDS AND ENJOY THE HOCKEY!
