It is with sadness that the Gandy family has asked me to acknowledge the passing of Neville Gandy on Sunday 18th June 2023.

Neville played for Suburban Hockey Club for more than 50 years representing Subs in the A Grade, before transitioning to the Metropolitan Senior Men’s grades and Veterans. Neville retired from hockey in the 2010’s finishing his career playing for the Over 60s. Neville was awarded Club Fairest and Best in 1975 and 1977 and represented WA in the Over 40s and 50s State teams. Neville was a true Club man holding many Committee roles across the years as well as being a general handyman around the Club participating in Busy Bees, laying carpet, and moving reticulation pipes.

Neville is well remembered as a social member of the Club, enjoying a yarn and a beer with his teammates both from within Subs and other Clubs, and was regularly seen cheering on any team playing at Tregonning. Neville loved watching his son and grandsons playing hockey and would be proud that the Gandy name lives on at Lions.

The Funeral for Neville will be held at Prosser Scott Funeral Home, Subiaco on Wednesday 28th June 2023 starting at 10.00 am. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of a Subs stalwart.
